Mercedes have created a more hardcore version of the SLS, which will completely replace it’s predecessor.

The SLS AMG GT boasts over 590bhp, a 7 speed sports transmission and performance suspension, all implemented to create superior race track performance. It’s 6.3 litre V8 can get it up to an electronically limited 198mph, with the 0-60 time at just 3.7 seconds.

Looks are not sacrificed for the power, however; it is still just as good looking, with a few added extras including a ‘GT’ badge and darkened head/tail lights. Inside there are some changes too, designed to make it look a bit more sporty than before.

On sale in mid-November, the GT model will completely replace the regular SLS- that means you won’t be able to buy the original SLS new. Overall the car is much the same, however. It is more ‘hardcore’- suspension is apparently tuned to be stiffer, as well as the obvious engine and gearbox tuning to get the extra speed. AMG are really aiming this one at the track- lets hope it can deliver, as we’re sure it will.
